Divers frequently encounter dynamic, low-visibility, and often hazardous underwater conditions. This necessitates continuous adaptive problem-solving, real-time decision-making, and nuanced judgment to handle unexpected situations safely and effectively, capabilities where current AI systems are limited.

Many core tasks, such as intricate repairs, underwater construction, salvage operations, or precise installations, require a comprehensive understanding of the situation and the ability to perform non-routine, complex interventions. While ROVs can assist with data collection, full automation of these critical intervention tasks remains beyond current AI and robotic capabilities.
